Frequently asked questions about podcasts
What are podcasts?
Podcasts are a bit like radio programmes, but they're different because:
- you can listen to them online whenever you want by downloading them
- you can 'subscribe', so when we make a new one, you get it automatically.
You can listen to podcasts the same way you can listen to music on a computer,
an mp3 player or some mobile phones.
How do I start getting podcasts?
You will need something that can download and store the podcasts,
either software on your computer or a feed reader on the net.
Lots of things can handle podcasts - iTunes is one you might know.
BBC Webwise has a list of free things you can use to get podcasts.
Once you've got that sorted, you need to subscribe to our podcasts.
Use your software or feed reader help page to find out how to add a podcast.
You'll either need to copy and paste the webaddress at the top of this page,
or click on the link.
If you get stuck, contact us and we'll try to help.
What happens next?
Hopefully you'll see all our podcasts and you can start downloading them.
This might take a little while.
When we make a new podcast, your computer will download it automatically
next time you're on the internet.
What's the catch?
Nothing!
Our podcasts are free and you don't have to give any personal info.
You can unsubscribe whenever you want.
