A quick and easy read leaflet providing an overview of parents rights under the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 and how Enquire can assist parents and carers exercise these rights.

The Parents' Guide to Additional Support for Learning

A parent-friendly guide to the Education (Additional Support for Learning) Scotland Act that :

  • explains the framework for supporting children’s learning
  • outlines parents and young people rights for and responsibilities for education authorities
  • describes and illustrates processes for identifying and making provision for children and young people with additional support needs
  • lists useful organisations, and
  • includes a contacts page so parents can record personal information
