ASL Implementation Newsletter

On 14 November 2005 the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004 came into force. This meant the introduction of a new framework of support for every child in Scotland who has additional support needs.

The Act gives new rights to parents and young people and places new duties on education authorities, health boards and other agencies specified by Scottish Ministers.

A series of ASL implementation newsletters, which provide information on the Act and Code of Practice, has been produced by Children in Scotland. The newsletters can be downloaded by clicking on the links below.

You can find useful information and the latest news regarding the Act on the Learning and Teaching Scotland website. Please click here to go to the Learning and Teaching Scotland website (www.ltscotland.org.uk/inclusiveeducation/additionalsupportforlearning)*.
