Enquire annual conference 2010: "Families as Learning Partners"
Tuesday 9th March 2010, Hamilton

Last updated: 1 December 2009

The Enquire conference 2010 will take place on Tuesday 9th March in Hamilton

Families as Learning Partners:

Parental rights are a key strand of the original 2004 Additional Support for Learning  Act. This act was amended in 2009, strengthening the rights of parents and linking with the 2006 Parental Involvement legislation. This conference aims to look at the successes and challenges for parental involvement. How are parents being involved in decision making and learning for children with support needs? How can we support parents to become involved, particularly those parents with their own support needs? Does the focus on parental involvement mean that those children whose parents cannot or will not engage with the process receive any less support? How do schools and parents manage the transition to adult life?

Enquire is managed by Children in Scotland and funded by the Scottish Government.
